What is an Air Jamaica Vacations® package?

An Air Jamaica Vacations® package is a complete vacation package you can design and purchase in one, easy transaction. You can choose to create an air/hotel or hotel only vacation package. You can select your round-trip Air Jamaica® flights, hotel and optional features such as a Dunn's River Falls tour or horseback riding. You can customize your vacation to your specifications and then purchase the package at a price that fits your needs and budget.

How does a vacation package benefit me?

Air Jamaica Vacations® makes it simple so you can customize your vacation to include what's right for you. The vacation options have been screened by Air Jamaica Vacations® to meet quality and customer service standards. Plus, we strive to bring these vacation options to you at a more attractive price than if you purchased them individually. After you've made your selections, you can purchase your reservation with one, easy transaction. While you're on your vacation, you'll have access to our 24-hour traveler assistance. From beginning to end we're here to help.

How and when will I receive my travel documents?

The E-Travel Documents will be emailed to the email address entered during the booking process. You will receive it after full payment is made on the reservation. If you have not received the E-Travel Documents, please call our Customer Care Center at 1-800-LOVEBIRD.
 
Will I receive Electronic tickets (E-tickets)?

E-tickets will be provided for the airfare portion of your trip. However, there may be some instances where a paper airline ticket may be necessary and you will be notified.

What will be included in my E-Travel Documents?

Your E-Travel Documents will include electronic confirmation of all of your vacation components. You may also receive vouchers for any optional features you purchased with your vacation.
 
Can I purchase my vacation online if I plan on traveling within 3 days?

Air Jamaica Vacations® cannot accept vacation bookings made online less than 3 business days prior to departure. We would be happy to make your reservation via our Customer Care Center at 1-800-LOVEBIRD. Please note we are unable to book a reservation inside of one (1) business day.  

Can I purchase a vacation online if I have more than eight (8) guests in my party?

Air Jamaica Vacations® Web site can only process reservations for up to eight (8) guests per party. If you require multiple rooms, please see the next question. If you have more than eight (8) guests, please call 1-800-LOVEBIRD. If you require ten (10) or more rooms please call our Groups department at 1-888-622-3007. We will be happy to assist you. 

How do I book a vacation package for nine (9) or more people?

If you are planning a vacation for nine or more people, call our Group Department at 1-888-622-3007. One of our Group Department representatives will be happy to make your travel arrangements for you. 

Can I purchase more than one (1) hotel room online?

You can purchase multiple rooms online if you book one reservation and then book the second reservation immediately after; however, we recommend calling 1-800-LOVEBIRD for assistance with multiple rooms requests due to availability. 
 
How do I change my booked itinerary prior to travel?

Contact us by calling 1-800-LOVEBIRD to revise your reservation. Changes cannot be made less than four business days prior to departure. Changes made will be subject to applicable revision fees and will be subject to current rates. Read our Terms and Conditions for information on our revision policies.  
 
What is "ROH" or "Run of House"?

Run of House is the best room category available at the time of check-in. 
 
Can I purchase an Air Jamaica Vacations® package by phone?

Yes, you can purchase an Air Jamaica Vacations package by phone. Prices may vary when calling the call center. Purchasing a vacation online is easy, so we recommend you take advantage of the prices found on our Web site. If you still prefer to have a Customer Care Agent book your vacation, you can call us at 1-800-LOVEBIRD
 
How do I cancel my reservation?

Contact us by calling 1-800-LOVEBIRD to cancel your reservation. Cancellations are subject to applicable cancellation fees. Read our Terms and Conditions for information on our cancellation policies.  
 
Peak Travel Periods

The prices shown on the Web site may not apply for travel over holidays and certain peak periods. Special thanks to the Tourist Boards and all hotels for contributing photographs throughout the Web site. 
 
What are Air Jamaica's® policies for check-in, baggage and boarding?

U.S. citizens must present a valid passport at airport check-in as proof of citizenship. If passenger does not have their passport, the airline reserves the right to deny boarding.

Due to international processing and increased security requirements, we suggest that you arrive at the airport at least 2 ½ hours prior to your departure time to allow sufficient time to complete all necessary processing and documentation. Your reservations may be cancelled if you are not at the check-in counter at least 60 minutes prior to departure. You should be at the boarding gate at least 30 minutes before your flight is scheduled to depart.

Air Jamaica allows each passenger to travel with two checked bags (maximum weight 50 lbs. each) plus one carry-on bag (maximum weight 30 lbs). Additional baggage may incur excess baggage charges.

Entry requirements vary by island and may change during the year. Please consult with your local embassy or consulate for entry requirements.  
 
What meals and refreshments are available on Air Jamaica® flights?

A snack, lunch or dinner will be served, depending on your departure time and the length of your flight. We have designed our meal service to provide a mix of Jamaican and international cuisine and our menus are changed periodically to offer variety. Complimentary Red Stripe beer, wine and champagne are served with your meal. There will be a moderate charge for liquor. Of course, coffee, tea, soft drinks and juices are complimentary.  
 
How far in advance can I purchase a vacation package?

We generally offer vacations 330 days in advance.  
 
What documents do I need to bring with me on the day I travel?

Bring a printed copy of your E-Travel Documents and a valid passport.  
 
What are the accepted forms of payment for purchasing a vacation online?

Air Jamaica Vacations® accepts most major credit cards. You must use a credit card or debit card to purchase online. If you use a credit card, you will be charged for the full amount of your vacation immediately. If you use a debit card, you will be charged a percentage of the amount of your vacation immediately and the remainder of the balance the following business day based on your bank's daily limit. If you experience difficulty, please contact us at 1-800-LOVEBIRD

How will I receive my reservation confirmation?

When you purchase your Air Jamaica Vacations® package online or via our Customer Care Call Center, you will receive an email confirmation to the email address you provided in the email field on the online booking form or to the Customer Care Agent on the phone. Occasionally, email confirmations do not successfully reach their recipients. Examples of when this may happen include:

  • The email address was entered incorrectly.
  • Your email provider blocked the email with a spam filter. (Please note, by adding our email address to your address book, this should stop your spam filter from blocking our emails to your inbox.)
  • Your email box was full.

If you do not receive an email confirmation within ten (10) minutes, you can email us at moreinfo@AirJamaicaVacations.com.
 
Who can I contact if I had a problem on my vacation?

Please submit, in writing, a detailed description of your problem and send it to our Customer Service Department. You may email your description to aftertravel@airjamaicavacations.com, or send it via regular mail to: Air Jamaica Vacations, ATTN: Customer Service, P.O. Box 1460, Milwaukee, WI 53201.  

Why is my credit card billing address required?

In an effort to prevent credit card fraud, we require the billing address of the owner of the credit card and will verify the information with the credit card company during the authorization process.  
 
What is the September 11th Security Fee?

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has mandated that all airlines add a security fee to all tickets. This government-imposed fee, called the "September 11th Security Fee," will be used to pay the government's cost for providing Federal civil aviation services. This includes training, salaries and benefits for the Federal security screeners and law enforcement personnel, as well as the Federal Air Marshal program.   

What is an Airport Passenger Facility Charge (PFC)?

The Airport Passenger Facility Charge (PFC) is a fee collected by some airports from airlines for each departing or connecting passenger. Currently, PFCs do not exceed $18 per passenger per round-trip ticket. 

What is a Segment Tax?

The Segment Tax is a Federal Tax of $3.00 on each flight segment of your itinerary. A flight segment is defined as a takeoff and landing.

What is included in the vacation package price?

All packages include Round-Trip Air, Hotel Accommodations, Transfers to and from the Airport, Hotel Taxes and U.S. Departure Taxes. Island departure taxes may be included depending on the Island selected.

How do I know my online transaction is secure?

Air Jamaica Vacations® utilizes Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to encrypt and protect your personal information. SSL keeps the data private and confidential between your computer and Air Jamaica Vacations®. This technology makes it safe to transmit your credit card number over the Internet. This Web site has a VeriSign Secure Server ID. VeriSign has verified the organizational name and that TRISEPT SOLUTIONS has the proof of right to use it. This Web site legitimately runs under the auspices of TRISEPT SOLUTIONS. All information sent to this Web site, if in an SSL session, is encrypted, protecting against disclosure to third parties.  
 
Will my information be shared?

No. No information you provide will be shared.  
 
What types of deals are posted on the Web site?

We normally post package prices in our Hot Deals section that offer the highest value to our Customers. Prices are normally based on the least expensive combination of airfare and land components and are listed as a per person price based on two (2) people traveling and does not include taxes. However, we strive to provide every day package pricing that is affordable.  
 
Why must I enter children's ages to book online?

Children's ages must be entered so our system can accurately price age-based features such as child airfare on Air Jamaica and children discounts at certain hotels. In addition, it allows our system to count the number of children traveling.
 
How do I reserve a vacation package including a passenger under the age of two (2)?

If you wish to purchase an airline seat for a child under the age of two (2), choose age '2' when you input Ages of Children on the reservations tool (please note that this will affect pricing for all vacation components). If you do not want to purchase an airline seat, simply book your package without including the infant. Then, call our Customer Care Center at 1-800-LOVEBIRD to have the infant added to the airline confirmation. The infant will be subject to an infant tax that will be determined at that time, and the Customer Care Agent will confirm there are no additional vacation component charges for the child. Upon check-in at the airport, you must present proof of age for the child.  
 
How important are the Terms and Conditions?

The Terms and Conditions are very important! The Terms and Conditions outline Air Jamaica Vacations® policies and procedures. You must read and understand the Terms and Conditions before you complete your reservation online.  
 
Do I need Travel Protection Insurance?

Travel, health and accident, baggage and trip cancellation insurance is available. Unexpected circumstances can occur at anytime, anywhere, and to anyone. A sudden emergency just before or even during your vacation may force you to cancel or interrupt your trip. Should this occur, the last thing you need to worry about is the money you could lose. We strongly recommend that you protect your vacation investment with the AJV Travel Protection Plan. Insurance is only valid for United States and Canada residents.
 
How do I find hotel descriptions?

You can find hotel descriptions in the following ways:

  • Using the top navigation of the Web site, click the "Destinations" tab. Then, select your desired destination city. Next, scroll to the bottom of the page where you will find available hotels in most destinations. Click on the hotel name to read more about the hotel, see photos, and more.
  • If you are pricing a vacation package, you can click on the name of the hotel on the hotel selection screen to view the description.
